Israel is facing a military operation that is essentially a rescue mission. Hamas has invaded Israel, violated, tortured, wounded, and massacred thousands of Israeli civilians, and currently holds over 100 Israelis hostage in Gaza.
One of Israel’s military objectives is the liberation of the kidnapped Israeli civilians and soldiers who have been taken as prisoners of war.
Israel has assured Hamas that if they release the hostages, there will be a ceasefire. Unofficially, one day of ceasefire for every ten hostages released.
Incredibly, it is HAMAS that does not want to release the kidnapped individuals! It is Hamas that has no interest in a ceasefire. However, it is Israel that is cynically pressured in all international forums to declare a ceasefire WITHOUT OBTAINING THE FREEDOM OF THE ISRAELI HOSTAGES.
Pressure should be placed where it belongs: on HAMAS.
